Antigua and Barbuda Standard Specification for the Labelling of Commodities Part 3: Labelling of Pre-Packaged Foods 0.0 FOREWORD 0.1 This Antigua and Barbuda standard was adopted by the Antigua and Barbuda Bureau of Standards on September 01 2003 after the draft finalized by the Technical Committee had been approved by the Standards Council. 0.2 This labelling regulation requires labels to provide detailed information
about the food, for example the, label must tell you what the food is
and what its ingredients are. Most food have to be date marked and certain
claims shown on the labels about the benefits of the food must be supported
by the information on the label. There are specific labelling regulations
for particular foods. For example labels on preserves (jams and jellies)
must indicate the amount of fruit used. These are detailed in individual
regulations for particular foods. 1.0 SCOPE This standard applies to the labelling of all prepackage foods to be offered as such to the consumer or for catering purposes and to certain aspects relating to the presentation thereof in the state of Antigua and Barbuda.
