ST. JOHN'S, Antigua:

The St. John's Development Corporation will on Thursday 4th August 2005 officially open the Vendors' Facility at the Junction of Thames and High Street. The function will commence at 5 p.m.
Recognizing the need for facilities for Vendors and maintaining the beauty and ambience of St. John's City, the St. John's Development Corporation in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works demolished the dilapidated building which formerly housed the Ministry of Tourism and converted it into a facility to accommodate vendors.
Project Manager for SJDC Mr. Conrad Pole noted that the construction of the facility for vendors is in keeping with the Government's policy of giving support to local entrepreneurship and thereby empowering them to improve the quality of their lives and their families. He outlined that the project with its aesthetic pleasing facilities and green spaces will enhance the beauty of this area of the City.
Mr. Conrad Pole who is responsible for the development of new projects on behalf of the Corporation, indicated that this project has given him a sense of satisfaction in that he always believed that the area should be uplifted since it is in close proximity to businesses in Heritage Quay.
At the Opening Ceremony, addresses will be given by the Honourable Wilmoth Daniel, Minister of Public Works, Honourable Harold Lovell, Minister of Tourism and Aviation, Senator Lenworth Johnson, Chairman of the Corporation and Senator Anthony Stuart, Executive Director and Mr. Conrad Pole, Project Manager of the Corporation.
Prime Minster the Honorable Baldwin Spencer will make brief remarks and cut the ribbon to officially declare the facility open.
