Independence Hype Begins with Jingle Release
August 21, 2005
  ST. JOHN'S, Antigua

The Independence celebration jingle hit the airwaves on Crusader Radio's Moving Up show last Friday night.

The jingle was produced by Bernard Duplesis and features several voices, including that of Ronnell Benjamin, who is now studying abroad.

Minister with special responsibility for Independence, the Hon. Eleston 'Namba' Adams, released the jingle and added that this year's theme- Antigua & Barbuda One Family -Working Together to Achieve Excellence is featured highly in the jingle and calls upon everyone to participate in the various events.

Speaking prior to the release, Minister Adams said that this is one of the creative promotional materials to hit the airwaves. He said that while it was released on Crusader Radio, other media houses would be sent a copy of the jingle to be played until the Independence celebrations are completed.

The enthusiastic minister said that at present, at least two television advertisements are being produced which would begin airing in a matter of weeks. In addition, he said the website 'aandbcomehome.com' will be updated shortly and will provide a wide range of information that can be accessed right across the globe.

The independence programme begins on 23rd October, but the Community Pride activities get an earlier start, with the East Zone activities set to take place around mid September.

Antigua and Barbuda celebrates its 24th Independence Anniversary on November 1, 2005.
