Governor General Sir James Carlisle, Prime Minister the Hon. Baldwin Spencer, members of the Diplomatic Corps, Service men and women and members of the public gathered at the War Memorial in St. John’s for the annual Remembrance Day Service on Sunday.

Prayers for the fallen in World War I and II were lead by the Very Reverend Rudolph Smithen, Dean of St. John’s Cathedral, while hymns and prayers were rendered by the entire gathering.

The Service featured the Last Post, Two Minutes Silence, The Reveille and the Wreath Laying Ceremony. Wreaths were laid by Governor General Sir James Carlisle, Prime Minister the Hon. Baldwin Spencer, the Commander of the Defence Force, the Commissioner of the Royal Police Force, Ex-Servicemen and members of the Diplomatic Corps.

“They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”

We are pleased to present the first of a five part photo album of the event. (Ends)
