HARDWARE TECHNICIANS II
The applicant should possess or plan to obtain A+ certification within one (1) year of successful employment with the Ministry.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrade of computer and related hardware, software and peripherals;
  • Perform onsite troubleshooting and repair of hardware equipment and software applications;
  • Must be able to keep abreast with hardware and software technology; I
  • Provide technical support to all Government Departments, engineers and other team members throughout the various Government Ministries;
  • Assemble and modify existing pieces of equipment to meet special needs;
  • Monitor functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications;
  • Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements;
  • Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan the layout, including type of computers and peripheral equipment modifications;
  • Analyze user needs and recommend appropriate hardware;
  • Build, test and modify product prototypes, using working models or theoretical models constructed using computer simulation.
