The health care delivery system in five communities in Antigua and Barbuda will be greatly enhanced with the addition of six medical emergency vehicles donated by the Government of Oman.

Antigua and Barbuda's Ambassador to the United Nations Dr. John Ashe last week accepted the keys to the vehicles from the manufactures in Manchester New Jersey. He noted that the vehicles are expected in the country by the first week of September.

"The Honourable Prime Minister gave me a mandate to procure six medical emergency vehicles from one of our friendly partners in the international community and the Government of Oman graciously agreed to assist us in this endeavour to upgrade the community clinics across Antigua and Barbuda," Ambassador Ashe noted.

Two of the emergency vehicles will be stationed in the St. John's Rural West Constituency while the remain four will be stationed in St. John's City East, St. John's Rural East, Barbuda and St. Philip South.

The medical emergency vehicles are fully equipped, state of the art ambulances.
