Capture Antigua and Barbuda during the Youth Photo Contest

The Ministry of Tourism is inviting all young photographers to enter The National Geographic's 3rd Annual "In My View" Youth Photo Contest.

The competition which is organized by The National Geographic in conjunction with the Caribbean Tourism Organization allows 12 - 17 year olds to capture the true essence of their nation on film.

To enter, participants should submit up to 5 photographs with a completed entry form or a 3" x 5" notecard including your name, name of parent or guardian, address, date of birth, telephone number and date and place the photograph was taken.

Participants are being encouraged to spend some time in their communities, snapping pictures that best highlight the people, the food, the landscapes, village life or national events of Antigua and Barbuda.

Entry forms are available at the Ministry of Tourism. All entries should be returned to Cynthia G. Simon, Manager, Tourism Education, Training and Awareness in the Ministry of Tourism by the December 21 deadline.

The winner will receive an all-expenses paid four-day, three-night trip for two (child and parent/ guardian) to Washington, D.C., a full day tour of the city with a National Geographic photographer, plus their own digital Camera.

The winning photograph will also be published in the 2008 issue of National Geographic Traveler magazine.

The second-place winner will receive the Ultimate Photography Package consisting of a digital camera with case and three National Geographic Society photography books. The third-place winner will receive 10 National Geographic Society photography books.
