Antigua & Barbuda's technology revolution makes another giant step forward on Monday when a full nation wide Electronic Learning (e-learning) Advantage programme is launched.
That's according to the latest information from Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Information, Broadcasting and Telecommunications Dr. the Hon. Edmond Mansoor.
"With the declaration of September as Technology Month by Prime Minister Spencer, the Government is continuing to transform Antigua and Barbuda into a globally-connected, information-driven, knowledge-based society", Minister Mansoor has declared.
In the initial phase, the e-Learning Advantage programme will make available on line four thousand (4000) courses to a minimum of one thousand (1000) persons.
According to Minister Mansoor, who has been leading the Government's ICT thrust, the e-Learning Advantage programme will be delivered through the Community Computer Access Centers, which have already been established in nine facilities across Antigua and Barbuda.
The e- Learning Advantage programme, which is part of the Ministry's Connect Antigua and Barbuda Initiative, will make available on-line self-instruction courses in project management, marketing, business and professional development, human resource development, strategic planning, information technology, desk top applications and in specific industries and skills.
The e-Learning Advantage programme, which is being undertaken by the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and Telecommunications in partnership with Cable and Wireless, will be launched on Monday, September 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Villa Community Computer Access Centre at the Villa Primary School.
