Stay-over Arrivals for August 2007

During the month of August over 20,000 visitors arrived in Antigua and Barbuda via the VC Bird International Airport.
According to figures released from the Ministry of Tourism, stay-over arrivals for August totaled 21,252 which is an increase of 2% when compared to last year's figure of 20,757.
Stay-over arrivals from the UK grew by 5% over August 2006. This constituted 31% (6601) of total arrivals received in the month.
The US market was up 20% this August. Arrivals from this market constituted 26% (5671) of total arrivals.
Stay-over visitation from Canada increased by 19% and constituted 2% (466) of the total arrivals received for the month.
German, Italian and French arrivals were up 13%, .47% and 276% for this month respectively. Collectively, these markets represented 7% of total arrivals for the month.
Arrivals from within the Caribbean region decreased by 3%. Arrivals from this market represented 28% (6155) of total arrivals for the month of August.
So far for this year, stay-over arrivals recorded out of the VC Bird International Airport total 180,266.
Statistics compiled by the Ministry of Tourism were sourced from the Arrival E/D cards
