New school hours will be implemented at Bendals Primary School from next week.

According to the Ministry of Education, commencing on Monday 6 October, classes will convene at 8am and end at 1pm, instead of 8:30 to 1pm.

Education Officials noted that this will aid in determining how many contact hours can be salvaged for students in the course of a week.

New hours were implemented after teachers and students begun experiencing difficulties, resulting from the fumes at the Bendals quarry, whenever it is operational.

Now officials are taking back thirty minutes in every school day, which will amount to two and a half hours at the end of the week.
