Francis Nunes Jr. was born on the 15th July 1948 in St. John's City. He attended the convent High School as a young boy before going on to The St. Joseph's Academy. "Frankie", as he is affectionately known is one of the Islands supreme hardware suppliers. Despite the challenges posed by other Hardware suppliers Nunes Hardware has been able to survive.

In 1982 he co-founded Nubec, Antigua and Barbuda's first solar business. He has also served as an executive member and Vice President of the Antigua Chamber of Commerce and President of the Antigua and Barbuda Manufacturer's Association. He has served eight years on the St. Joseph's Academy Parent Association and was President for three years. He also served one year on the Catholic Diocesan Finance Committee

Francis Nunes has been the UPP Candidaste for the St. Phillip North Constituency for numerous years. Despite past defeats, he is still committed and dedicated to serving the people of this constituency.
