Telephone, television and the internet continues to evolve and converge into a global platform for commerce: a key technological development in the new marketplace.
Antigua & Barbuda seeking to be a beneficiary of the boon form this revolution, has begun to formulate policies from which the new national legislative frameworks for the telecommunication and information communication technology sectors can emerge. Such a development could be an added boost to investors' confidence thus attracting more investment into these sectors. The subsequent increase in employment opportunities will help to contribute to the general economic growth and social development of Antigua and Barbuda.

What are the functions of the Telecommunications Division?
The primary duties of the Telecommunications Division involves administering and execution the government's telecommunications policies.
It's daily regulatory function encompasses but is not limited to that of:

Managing, planning, allocating and assigning of frequencies in keeping with the ITU Radio Regulations and Government Policy.

Ensuring that the radio frequency spectrum is effectively monitored and coordinated employing the utmost efficient frequency utilization in and for the economic interest and benefit of Antigua and Barbuda.

Preventing harmful interference to other users;

Administering a National Numbering Plan with procedures in place for the efficient and appropriate issuance and utilization of this resource;

Issuing and renewing to license upon validation of payment into the Inland revenue Department of the appropriate fees and the same for non-compliance inter alia.
