Information Minister holds cordial meeting with representatives from AT&LU and ABS

Minister of Information, Broadcasting, Telecommunications & Information Technology Honourable Melford Nicholas today (Monday) met with representatives of the Antigua Trades & Labour Union (AT& LU) Mr. Ralph Potter and Ms. Andie D Stephens as well as ABS Shop Steward Khalid Shabazz and others.

A range of issues were discussed inclusive of concerns previously raised to include conditions of work in the Cecil Charles Building and other matters affecting the staff.

The tone of the meeting was cordial and both parties addressed the prior breakdown in communication and agreed to strengthen and improve the intra-organization communication process going forward.

It is expected that there will be a follow up meeting in the near future at a date subject to the planned availability of the Minister.

Minister Nicholas gave a firm commitment that a resolution of the issues discussed remained a top priority.

The meeting also had in attendance the Permanent Secretary within the Ministry Ms. Joan Joseph and the Principal Assistant Secretary Ms. Olivette Williams.
