Ministry of Education, Science & Technology to Finalize MOU with Illinois Institute of Technology

The Minister of Education, Science & Technology, Hon. Michael Browne, met with Mr. Carl Vizza, Executive Director, Illinois Institute of Technology, to finalize a Memorandum of Understanding, which will strengthen the tertiary education landscape within Antigua and Barbuda. A 2+2 articulation agreement will also be established with the Antigua & Barbuda International Institute of Technology, which will allow students from the institution to transfer their credits to the Illinois Institute of Technology to further their tertiary education.

The Memorandum of Understanding will equip the Ministry of Education, Science & Technology with the resources needed to further develop the Information Technology skillset within Antigua & Barbuda. Illinois Institute of Technology will offer two programs, International Certificate in Information Technology and Management, and Masters of Information Technology and Management at the Antigua and Barbuda international Institute of Technology starting as early as summer 2016.

Mr. Carl Vizza will be traveling to Antigua & Barbuda to meet with the Ministry of Education, Science & Technology officials and the Antigua and Barbuda International Institute of Technology management team on November 20th 2015. A tour will be conducted at the Antigua & Barbuda International Institute of Technology and the Five Islands Campus.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is committed to making education at all levels accessible to all nationals of Antigua and Barbuda. The establishment of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and Illinois Institute of Technology will aid the country in acquiring and strengthening its Information Technology human resource skillset, which is an essential component in the modern global environment.
